Responsible Growth

Growing Thoughtfully

With our rapid population growth, we need to preserve our green spaces, our natural habitats and resources. We need to continue to evaluate how we can reduce our energy usage within our community. I plan to reorganize the Tree Advisory committee into an Environmental Advisory Board that could review developmental proposals to minimize environmental impact. I also am driving to restructure our contract with Harnett County regarding our drinking water so are better invested in our water supply.

Growing with Balance

We need to continue to develop and refine our town plan for growing our infrastructure, our utilities and roads within Holly Springs. Last year we reserved an additional 3/4 cent in property tax to accelerate our collaboration with the DOT. I will continue to advocate for investing in out roads and trails to create faster and safer ways to get around. I am proud to say that council also has budgeted for a micro-transit system in 2026. Our next piece is to advocate for more inter-town transit.

Growing Inclusively

As we grow, we need to grow from the bottom up so no community is left behind. Affordable housing is an issue in our community, and as a town we need to invest in opportunities here. I plan to create more incentives for affordable housing in our larger residential plans.

Community of Inclusion

In this community, I believe we have more in common than what divides us. I would like to be a part of helping our community work together, as neighbors, growing thoughtfully into the future.

Community Safety

Holly Springs is proud of being called one of the safest towns in North Carolina. I take that safety to heart. This safety should be for all our citizens, and that safety should be protected. The implementation of geographical policing in Holly Springs in 2025 will build a stronger police and community relationship. I am excited to see the implementation roll out this fall.

Community Engagement

Communities that are active and engaged is good for the town, and I believe our communities should be involved early and often in the decision process of changes that will impact them. I believe our neighbors in this town deserve a voice, and that we can leverage and learn from these perspectives. I advocated a Town Council table at the Town Information Day at the Farmers Market. I also was at Holly Fest 2025 working at the town tables and speaking with our residents. I believe being active and participating in the town events creates opportunities for conversation and sharing information. It facilitates me being proactive, instead of reactive.

Accessible and Transparent

I believe in consistent, reliable communication and follow-through. The Town of Holly Springs has made a lot of information available on its website; I have worked to provide clear and consistent information to our town about how to sign up for Public Comment and make sure each comment is treated the same way. I continue to request from the Mayor that the Public Comment section be moved earlier in the meeting to make it easier for busy families to attend. I also believe that as a representative, community members should be able to reach out to me and get timely responses. I advocated in 2025 for an updated Code of Conduct for the Town Council to ensure we are meeting the highest ethical standards.

With more community engagement, I believe that accessibility and transparency will grow. Forging this bond together will build a stronger and activated community.
